Plastic Canvas Projects

Plastic canvas is alot like cross stitching and embrodering. The patterns can be intergraded with each other as well. When I first got back into crafts as an adult, plastsic canvas was one of the first projects I did. I started out small but soon was looking for more advanced projects. My mom needed a wedding gift for a couple and had asked me if I could make something for her to give. I made a 3 tier wedding cake using the basic pattern and stitches, but added a little more dressing of my own to it including making my own cake top for it which was also plastic canvas. At the time I wasn't keeping a portfolio of pictures and regret I didn't. I had even added in a music box in the bottom of the cake so as the song played the cake would turn. It was quite a cake and Mom was very happy with it. Over the years I've made quite a few canvas projects which included clocks, a haunted house cookie box, and a detailed christmas mobile. I don't have pictures of them but sure wish I did. It is my advice, when you do projects to always get a picture of it, no matter how small or big the project is. Portfolios of your crafts come in handy at craft fairs to show the different things you can make and how much they are. I've since started one for my stainglass projects and it proved to work out great, as I had a chance to put some of my stain glass art in my local bank to advertise what I do. You can see pictures of my set up at the bank at www.geocities.com/onelovnhart and just click on my photos. Plastic canvas is also a good kids craft as there are alot of simple things kids can make themselves with supervision. Its a good way to invole your kids with your craft interests and who knows what the kids will come up with for ideas!
