Junk Recycled Into Treasures

How many times have we gone through our stuff in the spring and fall and cleaned out things we either don't wear or don't use anymore.? Many of us do, and I have a useful idea for that "junk". Jewelry for example, sometimes you just want to get rid of it as its taking up space or you just don't wear it anymore. If its made out of beads, disassemble it using the beads for other projects or to make a new piece of jewelry, for those broaches/pins, depending on the shape and style create a collage, decorate a wreath, or create a christmas ornament. Styrofoam can be bought in different shapes and sizes... for the cone shape ones create a christmas tree using your pins for a tree top ornament or just to decorate the cone itself. If you go to your local library you can find lots of craft ideas with out the expense of having to buy books. Old buttons is another good deocorating idea. Take plant pots and decorate them up using the old jewerly and buttons as flowers, use acrylic paint to make the leaves ect. For a kids crafty idea take the plastic frozen juice containers and decorate them up for crayon holders/ pencil holders, or make them into mini plant pots to start a flower or vege seed in. There are endless ideas to turn your "junk" into lasting treasures that you can even use for gifts. I have taken a large size laundry detergent bottle and cut the top off creating a plant pot, I've yet to decorate it, but it works great. Throw some fish gravel in the bottom or small rocks to give drainage, add dirt and plant and your good to go. If you have any ideas for recycling your "junk" we'd love to hear from you.
