There are many different garden treasures these days you can buy to spice up the flower garden, but how many times do you Not find what you really want. We have a big vegetable garden each year and I like to have a stake at the end of each row so I know whats where as I plant it. I came up with an idea that actually cost pennies to do. In your local stores or Lowes and Home Depot stores ect you can get free paint sticks, I picked up a few and turned them into fancy vege name stakes. A little bit of acrylic paint to decorate it up and write the vege name on it, seal it with indoor/outdoor gloss varnish and its good to go for a few years. You can also pick up misc. stakes like I did in upper right corner, and repaint them for your garden. Scrap pieces of my acrylic sheets always get saved to make chimes or what ever idea hits for garden treasures. Plant pokes are easy to make with scrap wood and can also be sealed with the varnish, ideas for these can cover most anything. If you have an old fence that needs sprucing up, dig out your paints and brushes and create a garden scene, or paint a scene that fits in with your gardens/landscaping. If you go to my store you will find some books by Donna Dewberry that are great for this idea and come with patterns. If you keep your craft patterns like I do go through them and remember crafts are interchangeable with each other, you can resize them as well for what ever your project calls for. Got any more ideas for garden treasures? We'd love to have you share them.
Good luck.
