Organizing A Crafters Room

Well here I am again tearing the place apart! The cleaning process continuted into the furnace room where my other half is building shelves for the can goods. Yes I do canning in the fall, theres really never a dull moment around here, between my crafting, the haying, gardens and canning we keep pretty busy. As we're doing over the furnace room we're trying to make it craft friendly, at least as far as the woodworking part goes. It gave me the idea of organization for a crafters room. Theres many ways to make your own shelves without spending all kinds of money, and still have it look good. With us theres always some kind of building materials around here as hubby builds our cupboards and what ever else needs building. A few inexpensive ideas are to hit up your local grocery stores and see if they have wooden boxes produce might come in if so they usually throw them away..ask if you can have them. Bring them home and stack them or find a board that would serve for a shelf and lay it across the boxes, another is by using cement blocks with boards, you can find inexpensive plastic boxes for storage, or pull out trays. For all my paints and beads I have a 3 drawer roll around. Keeping my acrylics and stain glass paints in one drawer, beads in their own drawer, and my fabric paints and misc materials in the last drawer. Using a roll around comes in handy in that you can easily move it to what ever area you happen to be working in. In the process of all the remodeling I did get to finish another scrollsaw project. This will be something I will be working on quite a bit as some scrollsaw projects are christmas gifts, but I will be posting my projects on here and/or on my craft site which is www.geocities.com/onelovnhart. As the holidays roll around I will have some patterns and more ideas to share and hope that all you crafters out there will also share your favorite patterns and ideas with us.
