Craftyness Family style

Well it was a good fun weekend. I broke down and got a new scrollsaw, course it was on sale which ended Sun. I spent most of the weekend playing with my new toy, and boy is it sweet. Its always good to learn on the old stuff and makes getting newer even more fun. While I was playing with the new saw and getting caught up on projects, hubby was busy working on our kitchen cabinets and being creative in his own unique way. The one thing I was lacking in my work area was enough lite to see by without being in my own shadow. I had a lite but it needed to have a base, and I really didn't want to add holes to the shelving, so hubby came up with a really nifty idea for a base. Being busy with my saw I didn't pay to much attention to what he was doing till I was cleaning up. Sometimes it really does pay not to throw out everything..(ha ha ha). Hubby had found an old kitchen aid base left from our old mixer and with some ingenuity made a base for my lamp.
I had to chuckle but it was a great idea..I can even set a drink or a candle in the bowl holder! Well as I said I was hard at work with the saw this weekend and got quite a few projects done up, course their not completely finished yet as my oldest daughter Sam is going to do the details with wood burning, she's getting really good at it so just gotta keep her practising and keep her busy during her recuperation. Since I've gotten the new saw I have gotten braver on tackling more intriquet detailing and having a ball doing so. The eagle to the right is only partly done, its going to Sam for woodburning then back to me for a backing and a finish coat, at that point it will be ready to sell, and that folks is craftyness family style. We all have our own unique nitch in the craft world and when put together as one you have a great project.
