Lamps aren't usually something I create new ideas for but, for this one at the right I had to do just that due to my clumsiness. I had managed to hit the glass ball and broke it loosing all my sea shells and colored glass out. It sat without being fixed for about a week when I came up with an idea I hoped would work out. I didn't want to throw out the lamp as it still worked and I liked it as well. So taking a trip to walmart I went to the vase department (or in the craft dept.) and checked out what they had. What I found was a vase that alot of pet stores use for beta fish. Not being to sure if it would even work I picked it up and brought it home. When hubby got home from work I told him my idea and he proceeded to drill the hole in the bottom of the vase for me.

When drilling glass you need a diamond drill bit, water and lots of patience. Once the vase was cut then it was time to put the lamp back together and fill the vase

up with the colored glass and shells.

In the center is a close up of the vase once it was filled and back on the lamp. This project is some what versitile as If I get bored with the glass and shells I can take the lamp apart again and change what I have in the vase.
