Crafty Safety Tips for Pets & Gift Giving Ideas

Well here it is well into November and I'm going like a crazy women trying to get all my Christmas gifts made in time to get them mailed out to those who live away and won't be here for the holidays. We were over to our friends house this last weekend and I have a nifty tip for those who look for ways to protect their pets during hunting season. Our friends have a big husky who likes to run free in the yard but they are near alot of woods. Their safety solution for the dog was to take a knitted orange hunting hat and cut the top off making it into a nice wide, bright orange collar for the dog which can be washed and kept for the next year till it wears out. Another idea I use alot with my cocker spaniel since he's got alot of white on him, is to take orange colored hair spray and spray him down till his white is very orange. Its a great way to protect our pets that love to run free and it's inexpensive and fairly easy to clean up. You may need to give your pup a couple baths but its well worth the effort.
As I said at the begining I've been right out straight getting christmas gifts made for everyone which this year happens to be all wood...Each year I try to take a craft that I do and pick on that one craft to make gifts for everyone. Last year it was Stain glass, the year before I knitted up a storm of scarfs and matching head bands for everyone. Its always so hard to find the perfect gift for family and friends that I came up with solution to my delima of "what do I get for them?" Each family and friend has favorite hobbies, collections ect, so I pick on those hobbies and collections to choose my gifts. For example our friend Andy likes fishing, and collects dragons and wizards, his partner Tina collects apples and humming birds and loves tweety so what ever craft I pick to do for gifts I try to incorporate their collections into it. Its a way to make gifts more meaningful and fun to receive as well as lots of fun to make. As we head into the Thanksgiving season let us remember to give thanks for all that we have. Our families and friends, our homes and jobs and the freedom we all take for granted at times. From my family to all of your families we wish you the greatest of holidays.
