Yardsale Beading Treasures

Hello all! I have recuperated from a busy weekend with the Ultimate Fall Yardsale sat. I did well and it was a beautiful day out ta boot. I have two more craft sales which will be listed on the events calendar on my craft web site, (www.geocities.com/onelovnhart) so am slowing down a little before diving into projects for Thanksgiving and Christmas. The end of last week I had gone into Walmart for a few things and of course had to check out the beading dept. to see if they had any new beads that caught my fancy. Sure enough I found a few different beads, and with my other things went to check out. The cashier took notice of my beads and mentioned she'd love to make jewerly but had no clue how...I simply replied to her that it was easy to do, just use your imagination! She again came back with "I don't know how"! I couln't resist and replied to the fact we all have an imagination we just have to use it. She just shook her head, I thanked her and went my way. Later I thought about her and how sad it was that something so simple as putting a few beads together was so hard for her. We all have imaginations, we're not all crafters but we do have our God given talents to create in some way or another. I was blessed with a creative imagination and have been able to pass that on to my girls and watch them grow in their creativeness. My youngest daughter Lynn-Ann was over last week checking out my new beads, some of which I knew she would like, and it wasn't long before she had whipped out 3-4 pair of earrings. Of course at the yardsale sat. hubby and I took turns watching the table so we could each check out what everyone else had, and I found a lady who had been into beading but had gotten out of it and was selling off what she had. I walked away with two quart size canning jars full of different beads for a cheap price. When I got home I emptied out my treasures only to find not only alot of beads but earrings that she had started, had one done but not the other, and found a necklace she had done but not finished. So I will be off to my favorite bead haunts to try to match up the beads and finish her half started projects. The best part of my treasure find was that this lady used the same type of beads I used plus I got half done projects I can finish up and keep or use for gifts or sell them at my next craft sale. Yardsaling, I gotta say is a must for a crafter, as you never know what you'll find. As the saying goes, one persons junk/trash is anothers treasure, and how true that is!
